El desafío de escribir un artículo científico de un estudio epidemiológico de terreno
Main Article Content
Abstract
Writing an article to disseminate novel and important knowledge for a peer-reviewed academic journal seems challenging for field epidemiologists, who are used to writing reports for decision-makers or notes for public health surveillance bulletins. We show that the field epidemiologist has already written what is required so he or she can and should prepare a scientific communication if indeed the inquiry has been systematic and there is something new to communicate. We show that clearly articulating the single overriding communication objective and providing scientific facts is the most important challenge, requiring good fieldwork, a sound analysis, and interpretation of the data.
